You can only fight the urge to sleep for so long… and these 27 poor souls know it. Sometimes it happens in a car, sometimes at work, but whenever sleep comes a callin’ you just can’t resist. Unfortunately, most of these people ended up passing out around their awful friends, so the results are hilarious.
Just because Pinterest projects involve simple ingredients like toothpicks, watercolors, socks and cookie dough… it does NOT mean that you won’t fail hilariously every time you attempt one of these. Meticulously sewing together all of your socks and then dying them alternate colors doesn’t look fun or easy. Because it isn’t.

TV presenter Melissa Bachman raised ire when she posted a photo of a mature male lion she allegedly shot and killed on Twitter and Facebook.
Within hours of the post, an online petition by Cape Town resident Elan Burman asking the South African government to ban Bachman from ever returning to the country was launched.
The picture depicts Bachman crouching over the carcass of a male lion with its eyes closed, paws either side of its head, as she holds her gun and smiles toothily.

The post provoked a furious response from many Twitter users, who called her 'disgusting' and 'vile.'
At the time of writing, Burman's petition had 18,891 signatures.
'She is an absolute contradiction to the culture of conservation this country prides itself on,' wrote Burman.

Signatory Richard Robinson wrote, 'You didn't kill a lion, you stood behind a machine and pulled a little trigger, you pathetic, sad excuse of a human.'
The African lion is considered a vulnerable species. Numbers are rapidly declining due to loss of habitat and conflict with humans.
However, hunting lions is legal in several countries, including South Africa where Bachman bagged her big male.

Bachman's social media pages and website reveal an array of huge beasts that have died after coming in contact with her. The 'Trophy Room' section of her website features a grinning Bachman with dead deer, antelope, alligators, turkeys and hogs.
This latest furor is not the first time Bachman has run afoul of anti-hunting groups.
Last year, she was slated to appear on the National Geographic Channel's Ultimate Survivor Alaska but was dropped after a Change.org petition that called Bachman a 'contracted trophy killer' was signed more than 13,000 times in less than 24 hours.

Minnesota-based Bachman, whose blog includes posts such as 'Why every girl should try bowhunting' and 'Stupid hunting regulations I just can't stand,' is the host of a television series called Winchester Deadly Passion.
In each episode, she travels to a locale and hunts its native animals with a variety of weapons including her beloved bow and arrow.
Lourens Mostert, a manager at the Maroi conservancy where Bachman shot the lion said the hunt was legal.
'If it isn't right to hunt these lions, why does out government legally give us permission?' he told the Daily Telegraph.
'This is not the only lion that has been hunted in South Africa this year.'

Among the hundreds of full-time jobs tracked by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, women earn more than men in only two. On average, women working full time make only about 81% of the median earnings of their male counterparts.
To find out which jobs feature the biggest gender wage gaps, we compared the median weekly earnings of men and women working full time in 2012 in the same job titles, as reported by the BLS. We then ranked the jobs with the largest pay discrepancies in percentage terms.
As a broad category, sales appears to be one of the worst areas for women. In sales and related occupations, women make on average 62.2% of what men earn in those same positions, according to data from the BLS. Legal, management, production, and business and financial operations occupations also tend to pay women far less than men.
While the report doesn't speculate on why men significantly out-earn women in particular fields, firm size, geographic location, and industry may all factor into the discrepancies. Women may be more likely to pursue career paths at smaller companies and nonprofits, and may also be less successful at salary negotiations. Discrimination, either by employers or clients, may also contribute, particularly in legal, business, and management careers without clearly defined salary ranges.
To be sure, the wage gap as a whole has improved significantly over the past three decades. In 1979, women earned 62% as much as men in the same job titles. That figure has jumped 20 percentage points to women's current earnings of 81 cents on the dollar.
Most of that progress, however, came between the 1980s and the early 2000s. Improvements in the gender wage gap largely stalled after the onset of the Great Recession, and women's salaries have hovered around 80% of men's for roughly the past decade.

When wedding photographer Jason Lee‘s mother fell ill with cancer, he wanted to take his daughters to see her. Unfortunately, he was unable to do so because of sheer distance. But, being a creative and loving son, he found another way to show his mother her grandchildren. He began taking adorable photos with his little girls Kristin and Kayla and posting them on his blog so his mom could see. The results are absolutely heartwarming.
18 year-old Cheng Changjiang was relaxing after exams and posing for pictures at a rural spot in Xinyang, at Henan province in central China, when tragedy struck.
What happened next would affect Cheng so seriously and so permanently, but that didn’t stop him from putting his life on the line to save children in trouble.
Cheng Changjiang was so happy when he posed for this picture…. but he would be dead only minutes later.
After the picture was taken, he noticed three little children fell into the water and were drowning. He couldn’t swim, but the teen jumped into the water to save the kids anyway.
He heard the screams and didn’t even wait to go into the water after them.
As the teenager was rescuing the last child, a man rushed to his aid. After handing the 11 year-old girl over, Cheng Changjiang sank underwater.
When bystanders were able to pull him from the water, it was too late. “When we pulled him from the water he was dead, there was no chance to save his life.”
It was typical for Cheng to put others ahead of himself, even if it meant putting his own life on the line. We think more people need to know what he did for those children. Please share this article.

These 10 powerful photos are famous and poignant, they will forever be cemented in history. The images that were captured are so intense, they are impossible to be forgotten. They said a picture is worth a thousand words… but it’s impossible to say just how many words these are worth. Prepare to be left speechless.
1. Some parents, likely now in their 70′s, still looking for their missing child.
Bruce Lee is probably the most famous and widely known martial artist in the world. He was born in 1940 in San Francisco. As Lee graduated from high school, he started teaching martial arts. His popularity came from his film roles and he is often considered the most prominent martial artist of all time.
Bruce Lee died on July 20, 1973 at the age of 32. His death is quite controversial. About two months earlier Lee collapsed in a studio in Hong Kong having a severe headache and seizures which he continued to suffer until his death. He was diagnosed with cerebral edema – fluid accumulation in the brain.
On the day of his death Bruce Lee complained of a headache and a friend of his gave him a painkiller containing aspirin and the muscle relaxant meprobamate. Lee went to bed for a nap and never woke up again. The first autopsy of his body found that his death was caused by an allergic reaction to the meprobamate. However, Dr Wu who had treated him claimed that cannabis had been involved in Lee’s death. Later the doctor backed off from his statement.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but not all pictures are created equal. These pictures are powerful. They are gripping and unforgettable because of the volumes they speak about the human condition – about some of the best and worst moments of contemporary human existence.
We should warn our readers that some of these pictures may upset them, while others may fill them with joy. But that’s precisely because these images reflect some of the best and worst parts of the human experience and world events.
Some of these photographs may mean more to some of our readers than to others. But hopefully, they will remind us all that the world can always use a little bit more love, tolerance, compassion and understanding.

Some photography purists resent photo manipulation, but others enjoy how it has opened up photography to new people and new ideas. Caras Ionut is a Romanian photographer and digital artist who makes a great case for digital art and photography. He has created an extensive body of images that are beautiful, enchanting – and impossible.
Ionut says that his imagination and his work are captivated by dreams and by the autumn and winter seasons. Although positive dreams are a big theme in his work, he says he also likes “to visit the darker side of what people may see of dreams, not necessarily what one would see as negative, but possibly a dream that one could not quite understand or may feel alone.”
He does a pretty good job of creating a dream-like mood in his works. The combination of soft and hazy colors with often impossible subjects makes for beautiful compositions.
One interesting note is that, besides just offering prints of his beautiful works on his website, Ionut also offers numerous Photoshop tutorials and classes. If you like his work or if you’d like some help with trying to create images of your own dreams, we suggest checking him out!

When Rick saw this heartbreaking notice, he posted online: “I need a big favour from any military or ex-serving members. This fallen soldier at 99-years-old is having a funeral on Monday and he has no family to attend.”
“If you’re in the area give him the send off he deserves.”
“This guy needs and deserves your help.”
The response? Hundreds of strangers have pledged to attend this fallen soldier’s funeral. Many are veterans, but there are still countless people who just want to make sure this veteran is properly honored.
“Me and a few other guys are going up on Monday. I live about 5 minutes away from the crematorium so it’s really the least I could do”
“Alright I’m going, we have to give this guy a great send off.”
The outpouring of support from complete strangers restores our faith in humanity and shows that people truly are good at heart. This 99 year old veteran did not deserve to die alone – and now, he won’t.
Each and every one of these 29 pictures will make you say WTF. It’s hard to see, but they are all amazing optical illusions that were created on accident. #5 Improves Communication
Family and marriage counselors, recommend cuddling to couples who have intimacy issues. It is supposed to be a very useful mode of communication, especially at times when words fail you. All relationships hinge on communication both verbal and non-verbal. You can easily give your partner a cuddle to say “I Understand” in moments of crisis or sorrow. Sometimes this is a better way of communicating to your close partner than through words, and can lead to long lasting rich relationship between couples. When a child is hurt and is weeping too, a good cuddle can do what the best antiseptic cannot. It can be used as a means to convey empathy and sympathy in addition to love and affection.

Cuddling helps where emotional bonding and attachment is warranted. The chemical, Oxytocin plays an important part in biological bonding especially between babies and their mothers. It is not only related to childbirth but also aids in generating breast milk, when the baby cuddles up to the mother. Babies and infant who are brought up with secure bonding find it easier, in later life, to form similar such attachments. Similarly it is good to want to be close physically to your partner as emotions are again involved here and helps in your relationship too.

The modern day issue of stress can be significantly reduced by just cuddling and increasing physical contact. Touching and more specifically hugging and cuddling releases a hormone, Oxytocin called a bonding chemical. This substance considerably helps bring down blood pressure and thus prevents heart diseases. It generally helps you relax, rest and prevents anxiety too.

There is also the release of dopamine, which is an excitatory hormone that increases sexual desire. When you cuddle with you partner, it is clear that you want to get intimate in a physical manner. Cuddling is beneficial before or after sexual intercourse. It can either lead to good sexy fun time with your partner or lead to cozy relaxing period afterwards. Added to all this, the hormone dopamine, that can excite one sexually is also released when you cuddle. Since studies have shown that a good sex life is beneficial for physical and mental health, the benefits of cuddling become manifold.
Cuddling has many more benefits than earlier imagined. It helps release the hormone Oxytocin, which is believed to make you feel generally good about yourself. Cuddling and holding helps release this chemical substance, which gives rise to a feeling of overall well being and joy. Another hormone, endorphins are also believed to be generated by cuddling which gives you a great feeling.This is the same chemical that is released after a good exercise, like jogging, etc and also when you have lots of chocolates.
